The St. Johns River City Band’s annual “Taste the Music & Dance” fundraiser is fast approaching. Monday afternoon several of the event’s organizers and River City Band board members met at the Aetna Building to iron out some of the details of the Sept. 6 event. River City Band Executive Director Diantha Grant (fourth from the bottom) said she’s looking to raise big money this year.

“Hopefully, we will raise between $15,000 and $20,000. That would be ideal,” said Grant. “Taste the Music and Dance supports the band’s projects, infrastructure and performances.”

This year’s sponsors include The South Shore Group, Current Riverview Bistro, the law firm of Ford, Bowlus, et al., Publix Supermarket Charities, Daily Billboard and Premier Beverage Company.

Patti Haze of 104.5-FM is the event’s host and Pharcyde Dance Company will provide entertainment.

Grant was joined Monday by (from the bottom) Isaiah Meaders, Vida Vongsay, Jim Mace, Marc Dickman, Angie Brito, Deanna Stephens, Kevin Monahan and Betsy Reichert.

Tickets to the event are $50 in advance and $60 at the door. For more, call 355-4700.
