The Miami-based real estate development firm American Land says it has more than 100 reservations for The Strand, a 28-story condominium overlooking the St. Johns River in downtown, while its sister property, The Peninsula, is completely sold out.
The Strand is expected to be completed by February and ready for occupancy shortly thereafter. Since construction costs were based on 2004 rates, The Strand is able to offer pricing for a waterview residence starting in the $200s.
“We have been overwhelmed by the demand our Jacksonville projects have generated thus far,” said Granvil Tracy, president of American Land Ventures. “The Strand offers residents the best of downtown living - the pulse and convenience of living in the city with myriad dining, shopping and entertainment options only a short walk away.”

Strand residents will also benefit from many on-site amenities including a spa, fitness center, steam room, library, pool, business center, concierge services, underground parking and river views.
The Strand sales center opened in late November in conjunction with the Jacksonville regional Chamber of Commerce’s Downtown Council’s Downtown Living Tour. In the two weeks leading up to the Sales Center Opening, The Strand hosted several special events offering guests a sneak peak at the exciting new residence.
“We are thrilled with level of interest we’ve seen from the Jacksonville community and are proud to play a role in changing the downtown skyline,” said Tracy.
The two buildings will be connected by an outdoor courtyard area featuring an integrated series of fountains and water features. The public space will also include a covered plaza along the riverfront. Additionally, there are plans to build a 75-slip marina on the St. Johns River with capacity for vessels up to 100 feet.
