The sidewalk adjacent to the construction site for the Main Street Park has been closed to allow the earth-movers to prepare the site. Downtown’s newest greenspace will be a key element in the $1.8 million beautification of seven blocks of Main Street from Forsyth to Union. A spokesperson from the Mayor’s Office said the sidewalk will re-open by the middle of May and the park should be complete by September.
