A selection of oil paintings by local artist Leigh Murphy is on display at The Art Center on Adams Street through the end of the month. Murphy, who usually specializes in nature-themed still-lifes, said she was inspired to paint aircraft after she went to an air show at Jacksonville Naval Air Station. She also participated in the artist-in-residence program at Jacksonville International Airport and created some paintings there. “You’d be surprised at how many people came up to me and said they had flown the planes I was painting,” said Murphy.
