Most lawyers have wondered at one time or another what it would be like to don the black robe and see the courtroom from the judge’s chair. Last weekend, Jacksonville attorney Craig Gibbs got that chance and then some, as he was cast to portray retired Florida Supreme Court Justice Leander Shaw in the HBO move “Recount” being filmed in Jacksonville and Tallahassee. “I guess Jamie Foxx was busy,” joked Gibbs following the shoot in the state capitol. “Actually, the casting director called me and said I looked a lot like Justice Shaw. I was thrilled to do it.” Gibbs didn’t have any lines, but got to share the set with Kevin Spacey, Ed Begley Jr. and director Jay Roach. The movie follows the controversy during the 2000 presidential election.
