How many years have you been a consistent top producer?

“1995 was my first year as Top in Sales for our office and my name has been on the sales plaque every year since 1999 as Top Producer for the company. Some years I share it, but most are mine, hands down! 2007 was my second best year ever!! And I’ve had some good years.”

What does it take to be a top producer?

“You have to work. I do what it takes as far as walk dogs, make beds, pull weeds, or take paint to the recycle center. Keep informed about my ‘product’, seminars, education, neighborhood meetings and know financing options. You must listen to the customer and remember it is what they want, not what you want.”

What advice would you give your fellow Realtors who want to be a top producer?

“My advice to fellow Realtors is to keep plugging away. What you sow today, you will reap later. Things may not seem to pay off instantly, but it comes back in sometimes the most surprising ways and when you least expect it and sometimes when you need it the most! The most beneficial advice is probably to be extremely knowledgeable so you can converse intelligently and come across as knowing what you are talking about.”

How have you continued to maintain your status as a top producer?

“I have continued to be a top producer because I continue to work. I do take time for myself and my family but this is a profession which I take pride in and I want to represent myself in that vain. It helps that I started during a buyers market many years ago and I’ve had to tap into the past and remember the ways we ‘used’ to do it. One must be more creative, know how to use the computer but it all comes back to talking to customers and keeping that repeat business. My grocery store visits take forever as I see ‘everyone’ there. Past customers are my life blood - follow up, follow up, follow up!”
