• Mayor John Peyton’s Chief of Staff Steve Diebenow has resigned with the City to take a job at Rock Creek Capital, a private timberland and alternative asset investment manager. Diebenow has worked in the mayor’s office since 2003 when he was Chief of Policy and Government Affairs. He was named Chief of Staff in November 2004 when Scott Teagle resigned the post. Diebenow will be replaced by Adam Hollingsworth, who is currently Peyton’s chief of policy. In addition, Peyton has asked current policy directors Sherry Hall and Lisa Rowe Rinaman to take primary responsibility for achieving the administration’s goals with the City Council and State Legislature.
• Speaking of another Peyton appointee, Susie Wiles, the mayor’s communications chief, has been asked by the United States Postal Service to participate in a Gallup survey. Delores Killette, consumer advocate for the Postal Service, indicated the online survey will help the USPS determine how it’s performing in the Jacksonville area.
• Maria Rodriguez is the new marketing manager at MPS Group. She provides strategic marketing direction to the following divisions within Beeline: contingent work force solutions, recruitment process outsourcing, talent management solutions and e-learning. Beeline provides work force solutions and vendor management software to leading companies.
• At the recent ADDY Awards, Brown Dog Creative won three gold and five silver awards. The ceremony was held at the Florida Theatre.
• The Jacksonville Historic Preservation Commission is taking nominations for its annual historic preservation awards. Nominations should be sent to Lisa Sheppard of the City’s Planning and Development Department in the Florida Theatre by March 21. The awards ceremony is May 1.
• Hubbard House has four new additions to its board of directors: Peter Kneedler, Dina Vickers, Sandy Barata and Joan Huffman. The certified comprehensive domestic violence shelter serves victims and their children in Duval and Baker counties.
• Downtown Vision Inc. (DVI) is presenting Downtown Get Down for young professionals on Friday. Organizers say that hundreds of young professionals in Jacksonville will attend to mingle at six different Downtown locations: Burrito Gallery, Dive Bar, Mark’s, Maverick’s, The London Bridge and Twisted Martini. • Leadership Jacksonville is interviewing candidates for its fourth class of the Collegiate Leadership Experience. Leadership Jacksonville alumni will meet March 10 at 4 p.m. at the Leadership Jacksonville offices on Woodcock Drive to interview potential class members.
