Pinning City's success on experience

Mayor John Peyton presented a 30-year service pin to Gordon Harrington Wednesday at a ceremony at City Hall. Harrington, an engineering technician principal in the Planning & Development Department, was joined by Planning Director Brad Thoburn and Mike Sands, chief of Development Services. There is a ceremony in the mayor’s office each quarter to recognize employees with 25 or more years of service to the City. Including Harrington’s, 15 pins were awarded for the 1st quarter of fiscal year 2007/08. “These people represent the finest of our City’s institutional knowledge,” said Peyton.

Those employees reaching year-of-service milestones this quarter include: (Central Operations) Sharon Davison, 25; Gail Lewis, 25; (Clerk of Courts) Nancy Hanzelon, 25; Brenda Dennard, 30; (Environmental & Compliance) Roger Baskin, 35; Joseph Napoli, 35; Derek Greene, 25; Jeff Kreisler, 25; (Public Library) Revondolyn Dubois, 25; (Public Works) Robert Burch, 40; (Recreation & Community Services) Mary Cummings, 30; Britton Tamer, 35; (Tax Collector) Frieda Andriesse, 45; and Jennifer Renckley, 25.
