• The Jacksonville Business Journal recently released its “40 Under 40” list and there are a handful of attorneys. They include: Christopher Davis of Peek, Cobb, Edwards & Ragatz, Barbara Jane League of League & Naugle, Matt Breuer and Emily Diaz of Foley & Lardner, Joseph Camerlengo of Camerlengo & Brockewell, County Court Judge Dawn Hudson, Jennifer Mansfield of Holland & Knight, Stephen Moore of Smith, Hulsey & Busey and James Young of the Florida Attorney General’s Office in Jacksonville.

• Clarification. Over 265 graduated from Florida Coastal School of Law last weekend. The number was incorrect in our May 19 issue.

• Speaking of Florida Coastal, in conjunction with the Appellate Section of the Florida Bar, the school will host a three-day appellate advocacy workshop July 30-Aug. 1. Called “Successful Appellate Advocacy: 7th Edition” the workshop will feature several judges from various District Courts of Appeal, U.S. District Court of Appeals 11th Circuit Gerald Tjoflat and local attorneys as faculty members. The seminar costs $849 for members of the Appellate Section of the Florida Bar and $899 for non-members. Registration by June 9 is encouraged and you must submit a short brief by June 7. • Plenty of changes at the Marks Gray firm. Paul Bueker, Giselle Carson and Marianne Lloyd Aho have become shareholders, Judith Guthrie and Robert Sturgess have been named of counsel and Michael Bittner, Tanya Mihelich Davis and Meagan Logan have joined the firm as associates.

• The Dalton Agency has put out an 18-song CD that features music that’s reflective of downtowns or big cities. The CD includes “City of Blinding Lights” by U2, “Living for the City” by Stevie Wonder, “Downtown” by Neil Young and a host of others.

• The University of Florida Proton Therapy Institute set a new record Wednesday when 108 patients were treated in a single day, according to Executive Director Stuart Klein. He added, depending on the type of cancers being treated, the facility could accommodate up to 150 patients per day.

• One of Jacksonville’s most “low-key” businesses is celebrating an anniversary this week. Stefan Mayerlen has been operating “A Fine Shine” car cleaning service in parking garages for 14 years. He started with just one garage but now cleans vehicles at The Enterprise, Modis Garage, Jax Center and Center Square or he will come to your Downtown office for on-site service.
