Beeline, the workforce solutions business unit of MPS Group, Inc. recently announced that it has received the “Excellence in IT Leadership-Northeast” award from ITFlorida at the 2008 ITFlorida Awards Gala and Tech Forum.
“We are very proud to have been selected as the award recipient from such a distinguished array of finalists,” said Beeline President Richard White. “This is a direct reflection of the talents of our software development team. ITFlorida is a valuable resource to us, and we rely on them for advocating policies on behalf of the high-tech business community.”
ITFlorida serves the state as an umbrella organization, comprising both public and private technology leaders advocating to the governor, the Legislature, and Enterprise Florida for sound public policy on technology issues and initiatives.
“It is truly an honor to be recognized by ITFlorida,” said Doug Leeby, senior vice president of Beeline, “and we believe this award affirms our position as the leader of our industry, an accomplishment we have worked hard to achieve. Florida is an outstanding environment in which to establish and grow a high-technology software business, as we have done. From Jacksonville, we deliver software and services to the operations of many Fortune 100 companies across the globe.”
Jerry Mallot, executive vice president of Cornerstone, the economic development arm of the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce, said companies like Beeline are a segment of business he and his staff and looking to bring more of to Jacksonville.
“We spend a lot of time encouraging high-tech companies to relocate to the Jacksonville area,” said Mallot. ”Having companies like Beeline in Jacksonville establishes the region as a technology center and helps attract other businesses to the area.”
The event included a keynote address from U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson and coincided with ITFlorida’s annual technology forum held that same day. For a complete list of the 2008 ITFlorida Awards, visit www.itflorida.com.
