The Florida Home Builders Association (FHBA) has recognized the Northeast Florida Builders Association’s (NEFBA) Sales & Marketing Council (SMC) with a 2008 Excel Award.

Established in 1986 as the marketing arm of NEFBA, SMC strives to bring builders, developers, lenders, marketing and sales professionals together to network and grow their businesses. This is the sixth time the Northeast Florida SMC has won the top spot in the statewide competition.

The Excel Awards honor builders, commercial contractors, craftsman, Realtors, on-site salespeople, PR, associate/supplier, media and advertising professionals who make major contributions to the residential home building and commercial construction industry through superior, innovative and creative sales and marketing. There are 12 SMCs across Florida that compete each year in the “Sales and Marketing Councils” category.

“The judges analyze our programs in membership development, education, public relations and community service as well as other significant contributions,” said Alayna Oram, SMC chairperson. “In a down market, having a strong professional network is incredibly important. We’ve worked very hard to retain the quality of our local SMC chapter and are extremely proud of this accomplishment.”

The awards were presented during the 2008 Excel Awards Luncheon Reception earlier this month in Orlando. To enter the competition, SMC members prepared a scrapbook, with a surfing theme of “Catch a Wave.”
