Doug Wenzel is active in all of the 15 local homebuilder associations he belongs and he isn’t shy in letting people know the benefits.

He’s brought so many people to the associations that he’s now reached a milestone: he has sponsored 1,000 new members. Wenzel recently earned his 1,000th Spike credit from the National Association of Home Builders. Additionally, he was designed a “Grand Spike,” a designation held by only 50 people in the nation, and only 10 in Florida.

“It would be hard to find another member who is more dedicated to the association than Doug,”said Northeast Florida Builders Association President Glenn Layton. “He has an unwavering loyalty to the home builders associations and is one of our strongest advocates.”

Wenzel, director of sales and marketing at Bonded Builders, has been a NEFBA member for 22 years and is a member of 14 other home builders associations in Florida, Georgia and Alabama.

He is passionate when speaking about the value of membership. “Anyone who makes a dime working in our industry needs to be giving back to the industry ... and membership in their local HBA is the first step. I am thankful that Bonded Builders Warranty Group understands the importance of the HBAs in our industry and supports my participation,” Wenzel said.
