Two members of the law firm Upchurch, Bailey & Upchurch have been recognized by Florida Super Lawyers Magazine for 2009.

Senior partner Donald W. Wallis has been designated by his peers as a “Florida Super Lawyer” for the fourth year in a row.

Richard Q. Lewis III, a partner with the firm, has been named as a “Rising Star” by the publication.

Super Lawyers Magazine bestows the title of Super Lawyer on attorneys who are chosen by their peers and through the independent research of Law & Politics, and who receive the highest point totals in their respective legal category. Rising Stars is the designation given to the state’s top up-and-coming attorneys.

Wallis, a board certified tax attorney, has been practicing in the Jacksonville and St. Johns County communities for more than 35 years. Wallis is the current Chair of the St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce; Chair of the Board of Directors of St. Johns Vision, Inc.; a member of the Board of Directors of United Way of St. Johns County; and a member of the Mayor’s 450th Commemoration Working Group in St. Augustine. He is a graduate of Duke University’s Trinity College and the Duke University School of Law.

Lewis is a graduate of the University of North Florida and Nova Southeastern University, where he graduated with honors in 2002. He is a member of The Florida Bar, the St. Johns County Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He practices in the areas of Civil Litigation, Commercial Law, Education Law, Community and Homeowners Associations.
