Seat 1

David Barrett

Dave Barrett practices at the law firm of Fowler White Boggs P.A. Dave was born in Illinois and obtained a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Illinois. Upon graduation, he came to his senses and moved to Florida where he attended Stetson University College of Law. During law school, he also obtained his MBA for unknown reasons. Upon running out of money and government loan options – otherwise known as graduation – he moved to Jacksonville with wife and Doberman in tow, where he will remain until death.

Christian George (incumbent)

Over the past several years, I have been lucky enough to be involved with the YLS and for the last year I have enjoyed serving on the YLS Board. During this time, I have played active roles in many YLS events including the golf tournament, “Holiday in January,” “Run for Cover,” and many monthly happy hours. More importantly, I have enjoyed getting to know many of you. The YLS is an extremely welcoming organization that is filled with many great people. I hope to continue my service to the Jacksonville community as an active member of the Board of Governors.

Charlie Jimerson

Charlie Jimerson is a regular at Jacksonville Bar Association events. He is most frequently seen in close proximity to the bar brokering drink tickets from the least needy to those most in need, skimming a few for himself for his troubles. While the value of his past services should not be discounted, this year Charlie hopes to make a more meaningful contribution to the JBA through holding a Board of Governors position with the YLS. Charlie is also a former U.S. Air Force Special Operations Combat Meteorologist, University of Florida Law alumnus and founding partner of The Jimerson Law Group, P.A.

Seat 2 (One-year term)

Megan Banister

I graduated summa cum laude from the University of Georgia in 2004 and decided to attend Florida Coastal School of Law. I graduated cum laude in the top 4 percent of my class from Florida Coastal in 2007. I have since been admitted to the Florida Bar as well as the Middle District of Florida. I also serve on the Legal Related Education Committee of the Florida Bar and I am currently practicing insurance defense at Rinaman and Associates, P.A.

Brad Blair

Brad Blair is an attorney at Murphy & Anderson, P.A. As a member of the YLS, Brad serves on the JBA Bulletin Executive Editorial Committee. Over the past few years, Brad has participated in and assisted with many JBA and YLS events including “Afternoon at the Courthouse,” “Holiday Project,” Law Week, Special Olympics, “Run for Cover,” and the “Holiday in January” project. The JBA, and in particular the YLS, provides excellent opportunities to give back to the Jacksonville community and Brad looks forward to having the opportunity to serve as a YLS Board Member.

Josh Roberts

Josh Roberts, an associate in Holland & Knight’s commercial litigation section, graduated with honors from the University of Florida College of Law where he was a member of the Florida Law Review. Last year, Mr. Roberts was an associate member of the Chester Bedell Inn of Court. Before attending law school, Mr. Roberts worked as a political fundraiser on national political campaigns and in business development roles in the information technology industry. Mr. Roberts received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications. He and his wife, Cori, have one daughter.

Seat 3

S.A. Siddiqui

I was born in Ohio and spent my formative years in Des Moines, Iowa. I graduated from the University of Florida and from Florida Coastal. I opened my firm in 2005 and have been in solo practice since. I have been the sole defense attorney in more than 10 jury trials at the circuit level and more than 50 at the county level (criminal). I have completed (by settlement or trial) nearly 300 dissolutions and have had nearly 2,000 separate client issues in non-criminal matters. For these reasons alone, I believe I am more qualified to serve than my opponent.

Lindsay Tygart-Havice

Lindsay has been an active member of the Young Lawyers Section of the Jacksonville Bar since joining in 2006. As a member, she has participated in many YLS events including “Afternoon at the Courthouse,” Law Week’s High School Mock Trial Competition, the “Noon in June” event, Law Week’s “Rendezvous on the River” charity fundraiser, and “Holiday in January” project. Being born and raised in Jacksonville, she is always looking for ways to give back to the community. The YLS has consistently provided that opportunity and she hopes to be able to contribute even more next year as a Board of Governors member.

Seat 5

Michelle Bedoya Barnett (incumbent)

Michelle Bedoya Barnett is running for re-election to the Board of Governors. During her first term Michelle created and founded “Noon In June,” – the only Florida Bar Association program designed exclusively for summer law clerks and summer associates. She also served as social chair planning social activities throughout the year. Michelle has been an active member of the YLS for five years. She is an associate at Holland & Knight, where she specializes in the area of labor and employment.

Daniel Iracki

Daniel Iracki, civil trial attorney with The Law Offices of Eric S. Block, concentrates in civil trial litigation, including personal injury, products liability and catastrophic injury. Over the past two years, he has tried 10 cases with Mr. Block and won 4 multimillion dollar verdicts. Iracki obtained his juris doctorate in 2007 from Florida Coastal School of Law. Iracki’s past experience includes clerkships at the U.S. Attorney’s Office - Middle District of Florida, U.S. Army JAG at Fort McPherson and legal adviser at the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. Iracki currently serves on the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Police Athletic League board of directors.

Meagan Logan

Meagan Logan earned a bachelor’s degree from Florida State University in 2002 and juris doctorate from Florida Coastal School of Law in 2005. She concentrates her practice in the areas of workers’ compensation defense, civil litigation and insurance defense. She is a member of the Florida Bar (2005), the Georgia Bar (2007), the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida (2006) and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Florida (2009). Logan’s clerkships include the Office of the General Counsel (City of Jacksonville, Florida) and the Office of the Attorney General and Children’s Legal Services (Ft. Lauderdale, Florida).
