Community involvement

Current president and member of the board of directors of Angelwood, Inc. since 1993. Angelwood provides family-like, nurturing residential care in group homes for children and adults with developmental and physical disabilities. We also provide respite care, day care and a summer camp program.

How did you get involved?

I was introduced to Angelwood by Sally Fox, the original founder, who was then an anchor woman at Ch. 12. I saw firsthand the wonderful quality of care being provided to these kids and wanted to be a part of it.

How can someone else get involved?

We have a golf tournament, a fashion show and other fundraisers throughout the year. Also, we are always looking for volunteers for various projects. Anyone can call me directly and I will send a packet of materials or you can go to www.angelwoodjax.org.

What have you learned/achieved through the experience?

Working with others from the legal community (Including Sheriff John Rutherford and County Judge Angela Cox) and the business/banking community, we have provided really good care to more and more kids and adults that are in need. It is really rewarding to make some contribution to that.

What was the last book you read or are reading?

“Outliers” by Malcolm Gladwell
