A record-breaking 576 adoptions in fiscal year 2007-08 was enough for the Children’s Home Society to recognize the four Fourth Judicial Circuit Court Judges, Juvenile Division, for their efforts to find safe, long-term homes for children. Judges Waddell Wallace, Jack Schemer and Henry Davis were named Public Officials of the Year at the annual “Awards Luncheon Under the Tent” at the Buckner Division of Children’s Home Society in St. Nicholas Wednesday. Judge David Gooding was also honored, but was unable to attend. Children’s Home Society of Florida works with more than 1,000 children and families daily, and more than 3,000 annually through adoption services, foster care programs and children and family support services.
