• There will be plenty of holiday cheer at this week’s First Wednesday Art Walk. You can participate in a candlelight sing-along at Hemming Plaza or take a horse-and-carriage ride through Downtown. Also on the slate is a custom toy show hosted by the American Institute of Graphic Artists in the gallery upstairs at 229 N. Hogan St. There’s also a 6:30 p.m. screening of the holiday film “Elf” starring Will Farrell at Snyder Memorial Church. Next door, Santa and Mrs. Claus will also be greeting guests at Visit Jacksonville’s welcome center.

• The Law Office of Imani Boykin has moved to 644 Cesery Blvd. Suite 340. The office moved to its new location Nov. 1.

• The Jacksonville Bar Association’s next “Ask-A-Lawyer” session is Saturday from 9 a.m.-noon at the Johnson Family YMCA, 5700 Cleveland Rd. Licensed attorney volunteers will be available to answer questions in areas of law including: contracts, real estate, employment, worker’s compensation, personal injury, criminal law, bankruptcy, family law, foreclosure, immigration, probate, and wills. Attendees will be given a brief individual interview with a licensed attorney on a first-come, first-served basis, free of charge. Attorneys will not be accepting cases for representation, but will provide legal guidance and information on available community resources.

• Former South Florida lawyer Scott Rothstein has been suspended from serving on the Fourth District Court of Appeals Judicial Nominating Commission by Gov. Charlie Crist. Rothstein agreed earlier to permanent disbarment from the Florida Bar due to allegations of violations of the rules regulating the Florida Bar, including misappropriation of funds from trust accounts.

• The Springfield Woman’s Club will host its annual Holiday Home Tour Friday and Saturday. Buses leave from the corner of Third and Main streets every 15 minutes from 4:30-9:30 p.m. The tour will feature eight homes and three condominium residences in Springfield. • Keep Jacksonville Beautiful is partnering with the Ocean Conservancy and other organizations for the Right Whale Festival Saturday at the Sea Walk Pavilion at Jacksonville Beach. The schedule includes a beach cleanup at 9 a.m., festival from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and a beach run at 3 p.m. There’s also a silent auction, kids’ activities and exhibitions from local organizations, including the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the Jacksonville Zoo & Gardens, the Ocean Conservancy and the Keepers of the Coast. With as few as 350 remaining, North Atlantic right whales are in jeopardy and are often threatened by human activities.
