How did you get involved?
Taking the Library as an example, I got involved when Joy Korman asked me to help resolve some issues a few years ago. I found the library to be a wonderful resource that many people use frequently in many different ways and care deeply about; and I have learned that librarians are very gifted and capable persons. Hug your favorite librarian today!
How can someone else get involved?
Generally speaking, call the Nonprofit Center, JCCI, Volunteer Jax, your church, synagogue, mosque or other congregational leadership. Specifically with regard to the Library, call the Friends of the Library.
What have you learned/achieved through the experience?
Jacksonville is a great place to live, with caring residents who have many different talents and experiences to share. However, I’m very worried about and disappointed in our current City Council leadership.
What was the last book you read or are reading?
Pat Conroy’s “South of Broad.”
