Senior Vice President, Prudential Network Realty, 2010 NEFAR President

Q.) How do you stay positive in the new economy?

I stay positive with a healthy mental outlook and the notion that what we do, both as Realtors and as Affiliate members of NEFAR, makes a difference to thousands of people in Northeast Florida. I also stay positive because this is a great time to be in the real estate industry and you have to believe in that. Mortgage rates are at an all-time low, a good inventory of homes is available and prices have stabilized.

Q.) Are there organizations that keep you motivated?

NEFAR is by far my motivational organization, especially this year as I serve as the 2010 president. NEFAR provides the education, tools and resources for those in the real estate industry to succeed. We are a strong group of 5,500 members who are bonded together by our passion for real estate.

My additional motivational organization continues to be my Prudential Network Realty family. The company is my rock and gives me the opportunity to lead NEFAR and its members in 2010.

Q.) Who or what motivates you?

Those who motivate me most are the outstanding Realtors and Affiliate Members of NEFAR. They motivate me to do my best as president and in my everyday work. I am particularly motivated by our NEFAR Members who have rolled up their sleeves this year, joined our committees and become a positive force and influence within the organization.

Q.) Do you have any motivational tips?

The best motivational tip I can give to anyone is to stay positive. It can be easy to let yourself get caught up in the bad news, but you have to maintain a positive mental attitude and surround myself with like-minded people. You also have to be decisive without losing your flexibility. I have 10 motivators behind everything I do in my personal and professional life - honesty, compassion, responsibility, a proud work ethic, courage, self-discipline, friendship, loyalty, perseverance and faith.

Q.) How do you stay positive in the new economy?

I stay positive by setting goals and trying to make a positive difference everyday. When I fail, it does not discourage me from getting up the next day and trying again.

Q.) Are there organizations that keep you motivated?

The Sales and Marketing Council of NEFBA is so motivating and recharges me everytime I attend one of their breakfast meetings or other events. SMC does an excellent job bringing in top notch speakers that help keep me motivated in today’s real estate environment.

I also love being involved with my two sons’ little league. It is a joy to help teach kids how to handle success and failure, as well as the importance of teamwork. Additionally, I work with a variety of charitable organizations that help make a difference in the community. It is rewarding and motivates me to keep a positive perspective on life.

Q.) Who or what motivates you?

First and foremost God and my family. I also try to surround myself with highly motivated people.

Q.) Do you have any motivational tips?

Be positive and courteous to others.

The best tip I have is you will never succeed if you do nothing. Take some calculated risk and if you fail, let the failure be a learning experience and not a deterrent from staying positive and putting your self out there again.
