Three ticket owners booted

The Jacksonville Jaguars play their first preseason home game on Aug. 21 at the newly named EverBank Field.

As of Thursday, the team sold 13,334 new season tickets, said Dan Edwards, Jaguars senior vice president of communications and media.

Those new buyers are among the buyers of 37,611 new or renewed season tickets and 3,340 group sales. The team still needs to sell 10,006 more to lift a blackout.

The season ticket buyers might need to know or be reminded of the Jacksonville Jaguars Fan Code of Conduct, now in its third year.

Edwards said the conduct code was developed through an NFL best-practices group, which worked with teams and the league office. He said each team adapted it as appropriate for the team.

How often is it enforced? “Every game.”

He said three season ticket owners have had their tickets revoked for violating it over the past two seasons.

“We do not disclose the reason for tickets being revoked. Suffice it to say it was for violating the fan code of conduct,” said Edwards.

It takes two strikes to be booted.

“The season ticket owner receives a warning first, and season tickets are revoked if another violation occurs,” he said.

In the spirit of a new season, a newly named stadium and the new season ticket holders, here’s the code (with EverBank Field used in place of Jacksonville Municipal Stadium)

Jacksonville Jaguars Fan Code of Conduct

The Jaguars want all fans attending our games to enjoy the experience in a responsible fashion. EverBank Field, home of the Jaguars, is committed to creating a safe, comfortable and enjoyable experience for all fans, both in the stadium and in the parking lot. Please treat all fans with respect and courtesy. When attending a game, you are required to refrain the following behaviors:

• Behavior that is rowdy, unruly, disruptive or illegal in nature.

• Standing in aisles, smoking in nonsmoking areas, or fighting.

• Intoxication or other signs of alcohol impairment that results in irresponsible behavior.

• Foul or abusive language or obscene gestures, signage or clothing.

• Interference with the progress of the game (including throwing objects onto or entering the playing field).

• Failing to follow instructions of stadium personnel.

• Verbal or physical harassment of opposing team fans.

Event patrons and season ticketholders are responsible for their conduct as well as the conduct of their guest(s) and/or persons occupying their seats. Stadium staff will promptly intervene to support an environment where event patrons, their guests and other fans can enjoy the event free from the above behavior. Event patrons and guests who violate these provisions will be subject to ejection without refund and potential loss of season ticket privileges or other privileges for future games. The Jaguars and EverBank Field thank you for adhering to the Fan Code of Conduct. Let’s all enjoy the game!
