• Mayor John Peyton and the rest of “Touchdown Jacksonville: Revive the Pride” will hold their first kick off event of the year Tuesday at the stadium in the south end zone. The 6 p.m. event is designed to start generating interest is season tickets for the 2010 season.

• Speaking of “Revive the Pride” there’s now a Web site where you can join “Team Teal.” It’s www.myteamteal.com.

• The Florida Theatre has already paid the City in advance for rent for the next 25 years. That’s right, Florida Theatre President Erik Hart sent the City a check for $25 dated Jan. 1. The current lease agreement dates back to Feb. 13, 1985 and Hart’s check covers The Florida Theatre through 2035.

• Thursday’s meeting of the Taxation, Revenue and Utilization of Expenditures Commission’s Performance Committee has been canceled. The next meeting is Feb. 4.

• MPS Group has agreed to settle two punitive class action lawsuits that were filed in response to the proposed merger of the staffing company with Adecco, Inc. and Jaguar Acquisition Corp.

• If you’re feeling lucky, the Florida Lottery launched a new big-money scratch-off ticket yesterday. For $20, players can get a “Lucky $200,000 A Year For Life” ticket with hopes of being one of 20 winners of cash prizes raging from $50,000–$200,000 a year guaranteed for 20 years.

• Friday Musicale kicks off its year Friday night at 8 p.m. with a couple of acts and one familiar face to patrons of the iconic musical organization founded in 1890. Violinist Piotr Szewczyk along with Friday Musicale President, Pajcic & Pajcic attorney and pianist Christine Clark will perform at 11 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. For more information, go to www.fridaymusicale.com.
