Bailey’s Powerhouse Gym recently launched a revolutionary new group training program using the TRX Suspension Trainer. Bailey’s — with 14 area locations — is the latest gym to adopt Suspension Training, a new system of functional exercise created by Randy Hetrick, CEO of Fitness Anywhere and former Navy SEAL. Bailey’s is also the first area health club to offer TRX in a group class setting. The TRX classes are offered at the following Bailey’s locations: Atlantic Beach, Jacksonville Beach, Parental Home Road, Baymeadows, Arlington, Mandarin and Brunswick.

The TRX Suspension Trainer was an invention of necessity for Hetrick and his SEAL teammates to maintain peak physical readiness while deployed in the field. The TRX has evolved into the ideal training tool for Bailey’s instructors to guide participants through Suspension Training movements to deliver a total-body muscle-sculpting workout.

“We’re very excited to bring TRX Suspension Training to our facility and feel that it is a great way to differentiate ourselves from other fitness gyms,” said David Bailey, Vice President and Owner of Bailey’s Powerhouse Gym. “And what better way to do it with such a functional, effective and practical piece of equipment?”

Suspension Training allows users to self-adjust the amount of resistance they want, making it suitable for people of all fitness levels by making small changes in foot, hand or body position; this capability empowers participants to continue with training, even when fatigue sets in.

“We have created a genre of physical training that users at the elite and elementary levels can utilize,” said Hetrick. “I know how today’s fast-paced lifestyle often makes it difficult to fit in a quality workout. With Suspension Training, you can get a fun, effective total body workout in 25 minutes. This makes it much easier for people to incorporate fitness into their daily lives.”

Since its introduction to the marketplace in 2005, the TRX Suspension Trainer is now used by trainers, coaches, athletes, physical therapists, and all branches of the military. Its also used by teams in the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL and NCAA and has become a mainstay in top health clubs across the country.
