Many times it’s best to go to the source to get information.
The Northeast Florida Builders Association’s Sales and Marketing Council did just that at its breakfast meeting last month by having a panel of four homebuyers discuss why they bought the home they did.
The panel consisted of homebuyers Linda Gordon, Jacob Stephens and Sarah and Adam Lane who have bought a new home in the Jacksonville area.
Each buyer had a unique set of requirements and ideas that needed to be met by the site agent. One was in a hurry to buy, the other was moving from out of state and the other was in no hurry at all.
What they did determine in their search for a new home is that in this market, you can get a brand new home for a lot less money than a “used” home that would require work.
Overall, price, location and floor plans played a key role in determining which builder to go with.
But when it came down to it, the big things that helped them make their decision to buy a new home were based on good communication, patience and helpfulness of the site agent.
