The Downtown Farmers Market at the Landing grew by close to 100 percent Friday as part of the Georgia-Florida festivities. A line of more than 50 vendors stretched from the Laura Street roundabout along Independent Drive through the Hogan Street cul-de-sac and back along the other side of the drive to the front of the Landing. In addition to the usual fresh fruit and vegetables, jewelry and locally produced arts and crafts, many of the sellers were offering game- and school-related souvenirs. This week’s 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday market will return to its regular location. Since its moved to its new home at the Landing Oct. 1, the number of regular weekly vendors has grown from about a dozen to almost 30.
