Outgoing Florida Senate President Jeff Atwater defeated former State Rep. Loranne Ausley in the race to become the next Florida chief financial officer. Atwater, who was in the Florida House from 2000-02 and Florida Senate since 2002, will succeed Alex Sink in the position.
