• Brightway Insurance recently acquired General Insurance Concepts, a 20-year-old property and casualty insurance agency offering personal and commercial lines of insurance. The company’s offices, in Orange Park, will become Brightway Insurance’s 23rd Northeast Florida location. David C. Miller is CEO of Brightway Insurance, which operates 70 Florida offices with more than 300 associates and insures more than 75,000 Florida households.

• Clara’s at the Cathedral is closed today in observance of Thanksgiving. The cafe, at the St. Johns Cathedral Downtown, will re-open 11 a.m.-1 p.m. next Friday.

• Winn-Dixie Stores Inc. said that from Thanksgiving through Dec. 31, shoppers using their Customer Reward Card will save 15 cents per gallon of gas for every $50 in purchases from Winn-Dixie’s gift-card mall of more than 80 retailers, which is triple the normal discount. For example, shoppers who purchase $500 in gift cards from their favorite retailers would save $1.50 per gallon on their next tank of gas ($30 on a 20 gallon purchase).

• Think shopping is a circus? The real one is coming to town Jan. 20 and tickets go on sale today. Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus will present “Fully Charged,” the 141st edition of “The Greatest Show On Earth!” at the Arena. Shows start at 7:30 p.m. Jan 20 and end with the 5 p.m. show Jan. 23. Prices range from $15 to $69 and are on sale today at the Arena box office and Ticketmaster outlets, or charge by phone at (800) 745-3000 or online at www.ticketmaster.com.

• Jacksonville Community Council Inc. intends to release its “Infant Mortality Advocacy Task Force” report at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 14 at the St. Vincent’s Medical Center Schultz River Lounge.
