Gov.-elect Rick Scott announced two new transition teams that will include City Council Vice President Stephen Joost and former council President Richard Clark along with several more Jacksonville executives.

The teams are charged with identifying opportunities to reduce the size of government, transform the regulatory climate in Florida and look for ways to attract new businesses that will create Scott’s pledged 700,000 new jobs over the next seven years.

The Economic Development and Regulatory Reform transition teams have been assigned to identify ideas from the private sector, success stories from other states, cost-saving opportunities and legislative priorities that can assist the governor-elect with implementing his jobs plan.

Jacksonville executives on the economic team include Herschel Vinyard of BAE Systems Southeast Shipyards, Fredrik Eliasson with CSX Corp. and Haskell Co. President Steve Halverson.

Jacksonville executives on the regulatory team include Joost, who is a partner with Firehouse Subs, and Clark, president of Supreme Janitorial Service, as well as Peter Rummell of Rummell Company LLC, Rogers Towers Partner T.R. Hainline, Ashton Hudson of Rock Creek Capital, and Ken Wilson with Gate Petroleum Co.
