• Ten students from Florida Coastal School of Law honors fraternity, Phi Delta Phi, visited the Sulzbacher Center Friday to distribute 100 teddy bears, donate $1,225 to the center and help serve lunch. Victoria Armstrong (left), a second-year law student, was one of the students who prepared meals.
• Twenty attorneys submitted their applications for a judicial vacancy on the St. Johns County Court of the Seventh Judicial Circuit, with a few having local ties. Mina Clare Bustamante of Beller & Bustamante; Nicole Habl of the Law Office of Nicole Habl; Isabelle Lopez of Lewis, Longman & Walker; Richard McBride of the Department of Children & Families; and Anna Shea of FIS Global will be interviewed Nov. 2 along with other applicants, some from as far away as Tallahassee and Miami.
• Legal professionalism will be on full display once again during The Fifth Annual Gary Pajcic Professionalism Seminar from 1–5 p.m. Oct. 28 at the Hyatt. The event is again hosted by the American Board of Trial Advocates, with attendees receiving CLE credits in general hours, ethics hours and civil trial certification and criminal trial certification hours. • Boyd & Jenerette made a few recent additions, including four new partners. Cary Braswell and Elizabeth Howard will join the Jacksonville office while Tom Berger and Todd Stone will practice from the Fort Lauderdale office.
