• Early voting in Duval County for the Nov. 2 election starts today. Registered voters can cast votes Monday-Sunday through Oct. 31. Sites include the Supervisor of Elections offices Downtown and along Norwood Avenue as well as eight libraries: Beaches, Highlands, Mandarin, Regency, South Mandarin, Southeast, Webb-Wesconnett and West Regional. Information: 630-1414.

• Another cliche is on the loose. Watch out for the growing use of “narrative” instead of account, story or development.

• Jacksonville-based Fidelity National Financial Inc. Chair Bill Foley and his wife sold their almost eight-acre oceanfront estate in Santa Barbara, Calif., for $18.44 million, the biggest sale in Santa Barbara this year, reports The Wall Street Journal. The Journal said Foley plans to spend time in Northern California, where he owns some wineries, in addition to his homes in Montana and Florida. The Foleys were asking $28.5 million in February.

• Correction: A City Note in Thursday’s Daily Record incorrectly stated the grand opening date of the newest Publix at 5858 Atlantic Blvd. The grand opening will take place Thursday.
