• Jacksonville-based Fidelity National Financial Inc. announced Wednesday that Alan Stinson has stepped down as CEO but will remain as an executive vice president. Chief Operating Officer George Scanlon has been named the company’s new CEO. Stinson will report to Chair Bill Foley and will focus on oversight and board membership for Fidelity National Financial’s portfolio companies.
• Florida Chief Financial Officer candidate Loranne Ausley was in town talking “courthouse” Wednesday afternoon, but it didn’t concern the Duval County Courthouse under construction Downtown. Ausley talked about the “Taj Mahal” courthouse being built in Tallahassee. She spoke in front of the current Duval County Courthouse, using examples of spending she believes are lavish. Ausley is running against Jeff Atwater on the Nov. 2 ballot.
• Public relations agent Teresa Eichner joined the staff of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 5-30 to handle public and government relations. With 15 years of experience in those areas, she most recently served as principal of her own consulting company.
