Metro Jacksonville became more diverse the past three years as the number of people of two or more races, the Asian population and the Hispanic and Latino population increased between 2007 and 2009.
The white population share fell slightly, to 71.1 percent in 2009, while the black remained in the 22 percent range as a share of the population.
