One of the rules about working Downtown for most people is that lunch lasts an hour from the time you leave where you work until the time you have to be back at work. That can limit the choices, based on geography and speed of service.

Juliette’s Bistro at the Omni has introduced an option that combines the culinary talent at Downtown’s only four-diamond hotel with the quickest way to serve a meal, the buffet.

Each day has a different theme. Monday’s menu is “Healthy Choice” sandwiches and soups, while Tuesday features “Orient Express” Asian entrees. Wednesday it’s “South of the Border” with fajitas and tacos.

Juliette’s has brought back the popular Italian buffet for Thursday’s “Tour of Italy,” with pasta dishes prepared to order on the buffet line. The workweek comes to an end with Friday’s “Southern Comfort” selections including meatloaf, chicken and dumplings, macaroni and cheese and buttermilk biscuits.

“We’ve been working on the menu for several weeks,” said Assistant Food & Beverage Director Marsha Greer. “Some of the recipes are based on our catering menu and some were developed specifically for the buffet.”

She said the new offering takes into account the restaurant’s clientele and its location, sharing a building with an office high-rise and within a short walk for thousands of people who work nearby.

“Most of our guests are business travelers. They tend to check in late in the afternoon and check out early in the morning, so they’re not a big part of our lunch,” she said. “We created the buffet to meet the needs of the Downtown crowd. Juliette’s is not ‘fast food,’ but this is fast because you serve yourself, and it’s affordable.”

The buffet is served 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. It’s $9.95 per person, including beverage and dessert. No reservations are required.
