• You might reach voice mail if you call the office at the Landing Thursday and Friday. General Manager Janice Lowe, Public Relations and Marketing Coordinator Blakeley Ainsworth and Administrative Assistant Pat Newman will be in Chicago. They have tickets to be in the audience Friday when Oprah Winfrey tapes her syndicated television show. Scheduled guests are retro rockers Stevie Nicks, Pat Benatar, Joan Jett and Salt-N-Pepa, said Lowe.

• Speaking of the Landing, Gov. Rick Scott is expected at the 3rd annual Tax Day Tea Party Rally the evening of April 15.

• Update on The Players: The first Executive Women’s Day during the May 9-15 golf tournament is scheduled all day May 9 to attract about 240 area women business leaders. Activities include a focus “on success stories from the women who’ve built profitable businesses and become corporate leaders across the First Coast of Florida.” It kicks off with “The Power Broker’s Breakfast” at 7:30 a.m., followed by an “Inside the Ropes 101” tour of The Players, followed by a lunch featuring guest speaker Contessa Brewer, MSNBC’s prime-time news anchor. It wraps up with “Wine Down and Network Up.”

• From 9-11 a.m. Saturday, the Beaches Museum, Beaches Heritage Garden and the Art Center Inc. are hosting a free art and garden event for young children and their parents at 380 Pablo Ave. in Jacksonville Beach.

• Also on Saturday, more than 5,000 walkers will participate in the Annual Walk to Cure Diabetes benefiting the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation North Florida Chapter. Festivitites begin at the Fairgrounds at 8 a.m. and the 3-mile walk starts at 9 a.m.

• Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida and Mayo Clinic in Florida expanded their agreement, making Mayo Clinic an in-network option for BCBSF BlueOptions members.

• Downtown Vision Inc. plans its next “Downtown Operations Meeting” at 9:30 a.m. April 13 at the Main Library. The meetings inform people and property owners with a stake in Downtown about what’s happening with safety, events, traffic and developments. RSVP to amy@downtowntownjacksonville.
