• Gov. Rick Scott said he regularly makes economic development calls. He’s not the only one dialing for dollars from Tallahassee. So is Lt. Gov. Jennifer Carroll. Her schedule Monday showed she planned to make economic development calls from 10:30-11 a.m. and 1:30-3 p.m. from the Capitol building.
• The YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh announced Monday that its chief executive officer, Eric Mann, has accepted the position of CEO of the YMCA of Florida’s First Coast in Jacksonville and will remain with the Greater Pittsburgh Y through June 30. Mann said he is making the move to be closer to his and his wife’s families.
• Forty-four Nemours physicians from Nemours Children’s Clinic in Jacksonville have been selected among the Best Doctors in America for 2011-2012. In Florida, the organization had a total of 69 doctors on the list. The current listing of the Best Doctors in America is the result of polling more than 45,000 physicians in the United States by Best Doctors Inc.
• The Arlington Council of the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce sent a reminder that mayoral candidates Alvin Brown and Mike Hogan are scheduled for a forum at 7:30 a.m. April 27 at the Jacksonville University Kinne Center.
• Speaking of Jacksonville University, its Marine Science Research Institute will offer Marine Science Summer Camps for high school students, age 13-18. The camps are June 20-24 and June 27-July 1. The camp is underwritten by EverBank. Possible field trips include outings to the St. Johns River in Downtown Jacksonville, Little Talbot Island, Fort George Inlet, Matanzas Bay, Huguenot Park, Hanna Park and Mayport.
