• Baptist Health Foundation promoted Kerrie Slattery to senior development director for Wolfson Children’s Hospital. Matthew Kampfe will assume Slattery’s role of development director for Baptist Medical Center Beaches. Slattery has been the chief development professional at Baptist Beaches since 2007. Kampfe has been employed as a development director at the Foundation since February.

• Planning brunch this weekend? Another option opened at Jacksonville Beach. Bradenton-based First Watch, a breakfast, brunch and lunch company, opened at 544 Marsh Landing Parkway at Butler Boulevard and South Third Street. It features traditional foods prepared fresh and doesn’t use microwaves, deep fryers or heat lamps. It’s open daily 7 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

• Michigan-based Jet’s Pizza plans to open a Jacksonville store in mid-September in the Harbour Village shopping plaza at 13475 Atlantic Blvd., near San Pablo Road. The Jet’s menu offers pizza, salads, subs, chicken wings, breadsticks, Jet Boats and Deli Boats for carry-out or delivery.

• The Northeast Florida Association of Realtors said pending single-family home sales rose 18.3 percent in July from last July to 1,661. Closed sales dropped 1 percent from 1,367 to 1,353. The median sales price was down 5.6 percent to $130,199 while the average price rose 5.1 percent. Of the sales, 44.3 percent were lender-mediated.

• Haven Hospice said the new hospice inpatient care center that will serve Orange Park and Clay County will be named The Homer J. Sr. & Fern O. Custead Care Center. It said the Custead family, with long-standing ties to the Clay County area, made a significant naming gift to Haven. Haven plans to build an 18-bed inpatient hospice facility along Blanding Boulevard opposite Fox Ridge Road. It will break ground Sept. 9.
