How did you get involved?
I initially got involved with Jacksonville Area Legal Aid doing Thursday evening intake at the Legal Aid office in Downtown Jacksonville. When the Thursday evening intake program came to an end, Sarah Fowler, a true asset to JALA, referred me to Kathy Para, who coordinates the “Ask-A-Lawyer” events. My work with the Foster Buddies program stems from my time as a volunteer Guardian ad Litem. I decided to become a mentor with Foster Buddies because I wanted to try and develop a better relationship with a youth whom I had met through the Guardian program, in the hopes that I could have a greater impact on his life.
How can someone else get involved?

What have you learned/achieved through the experience?
This is a tough question. Without a doubt, involvement in the community is personally rewarding. But going beyond that, you hope to have a positive impact on someone’s life.
What was the last book you read or are reading?
George R.R. Martin’s “A Clash of Kings”
