• Dave Medvidofsky has been promoted to vice president and head of the internal audit unit at The Main Street America Group. Medvidofsky has led the Jacksonville-based regional property casualty insurance carrier’s corporate strategy function since 2005. He will be responsible for providing Main Street America’s senior management, audit committee and board of directors with independent and objective assurance on strategic, operational, financial and compliance objectives.

• Matt Cochran joined LBA Wealth Management LLC as a portfolio manager to manage investment portfolios for high net worth individuals.

• Tax time already. The RealSense Prosperity Campaign is in gear to help taxpayers, especially those who qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit, which is available to those with a total family income up to $48,362 and at least three dependents. Taxpayers can call United Way by dialing 2-1-1 or calling 632-0600.

• The next invitation-only CEO Nexus Forum is 7:30 a.m. Feb. 24 and features Brightway Insurance co-founders David and Michael Miller. The Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce holds the forum for second-stage businesses.

• On Friday, the Sulzbacher Center Dental Clinic will host the American Dental Association’s annual “Give Kids a Smile” day. Volunteer dentists will provide free dental care to homeless and needy children. There’s also a surprise visit from the Jacksonville Suns mascot, Southpaw, to make the children more comfortable during their visit. Dentists from the Jacksonville Dental Society are sponsoring this event at the center for the fifth year. Parents of children who need dental care should call 394-8060 for information and to make an appointment.

• The City is accepting nominations for the 2011 Jacksonville Jazz Festival Hall of Fame, which recognizes those who have made significant contributions to jazz in Jacksonville. The deadline for nominations is March 1. Nomination forms and bios of current hall of fame members are available at www.jaxjazzfest.com.
