The City of Neptune Beach received 19 applications for its general counsel position, which will be vacated at the end of February.
The Neptune Beach City Council will review the applications and select about five candidates for interviews.
“It looks like we have a talented pool of applicants,” said Harriet Pruette, mayor of the City of Neptune Beach. “It should make the decisions a little more difficult, but that is a good problem to have.”
The city’s incumbent attorney, Chris White, has decided to resign effective the end of February. He is the fourth general counsel in the city’s history and began serving in 1997.
The city advertised for an attorney with “experience in municipal land use and litigation. Local government experience desired.”
The deadline was noon Jan. 28 and applications were received from the following:
