The announcement of a short winter from Punxsutawney Phil on Wednesday was just another reason to attend a local annual celebration of the famous groundhog weather forecaster Thursday at the 5 Points Theatre.
The Tritt Henderson law firm continued its February “Groundhog Day Extravaganza” tradition at the Riverside location and kept guests dry inside for the second straight year, despite some rain Thursday night.
“This is always a great event,” said Paul Healy, of the Law Offices of Paul Healy.
The event began at the law office of Tritt Henderson at 707 Peninsular Place in Riverside six years ago as a way to thank clients and mingle with colleagues.
Rain typically followed guests to the party, which affected the event that was held both inside and outdoors. The law firm took the weather out of the equation last year by moving it to the 5 Points Theatre and the response was strong enough to return this year.
The party featured the movie “Groundhog Day” on the big screen, the Boogie Freaks playing live music and Punxsutawney Phil Mardi Gras beads and hats throughout the venue.
