More than 200 four-wheeled motorized vehicles representing dozens of nameplates will be on display this weekend at the Osborn Center during the Jacksonville International Car & Truck Show.
It’s the biggest car and truck show in the 11-year history of the event, said Barbara Pudney, show manager.
“The automobile industry is on the rebound,” she said.
In addition to more cars and trucks, exhibitors also brought their top-of-the-line rotating displays and interactive presentations.
Pudney said show visitors fall into three categories. A third are in the market for a new car or truck, a third come just for the entertainment and the rest want to check out the latest automotive technology.
“And that’s gone far beyond handsfree cell phones and GPS,” said Pudney.
There’s also a game room for the youngsters, an 18-wheeler driving simulator, the Florida Highway Patrol’s rollover simulator and a demo performance Sunday by the Jacksonville RollerGirls.
The show is open noon-9 p.m. today, 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. Parking at the convention center lot is free, courtesy of VyStar Credit Union.
