• City Council President Jack Webb has become a partner in the Brennan, Manna & Diamond law firm. Webb will continue to lead the firm’s labor and employment practice group. He has been Of Counsel to the firm for the past year and a half. Webb has 14 years of experience counseling and advising clients on labor and employment matters.

• The Downtown Council of the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce meets Friday morning for its first meeting of the year. This week, three members will report their experiences on the Indianapolis Leadership Trip in October. The Jan. 21 meeting will feature keynote speaker Ron Barton, executive director of the Jacksonville Economic Development Commission. The group meets at 7:30 a.m. at Currents Riverview Bistro in the Aetna Building on the Downtown Southbank. Cost is $17 for members and $22 for guests.

• “Ten Ahead: Predictions for the Upcoming Decade” will be presented at noon Jan. 21 at the Association for Corporate Growth meeting at the Crowne Plaza on the Downtown Southbank.
