• Assistant Attorney General James Young has been recommended for a seat on the City’s Ethics Commission by its nominating commission. The Ethics Commission will vote on the recommendation, as well as recommendations for commission member Braxton Gillam to become chair and member Helen Ludwig to become vice chair of the commission.

• The City’s Office of Special Events, the Duval County Council on Elder Affairs, ElderSource and Senior Life Foundation are hosting a Legislative Forum Jan. 20 for senior citizens and members of the Duval County Legislative Delegation. The lawmakers were invited to hear issues and concerns facing senior citizens. The meeting begins at 10 a.m. at the Main Library’s Multipurpose Room and is free, but reservations must be made in advance.
