• Assistant Attorney General James Young has been recommended for a seat on the City’s Ethics Commission by its nominating commission. The Ethics Commission will vote on the recommendation, as well as recommendations for commission member Braxton Gillam to become chair and member Helen Ludwig to become vice chair of the commission.

• Having trouble finding the exit on I-95 that leads to Florida Coastal School of Law? The Florida Department of Transportation has solved that dilemma with a new green sign near the Baymeadows Road exit pointing the way to the Jacksonville law school.

• SkillStorm, a national IT and engineering services and consulting firm, has hired Joe Doran as associate vice president. Based in San Diego, the company has three offices in Florida including Jacksonville, Fort Lauderdale and St. Petersburg. Doran oversees operations management, business development and management of employees and contractors.

• The City’s Office of Special Events, the Duval County Council on Elder Affairs, ElderSource and Senior Life Foundation are hosting a Legislative Forum Jan. 20 for senior citizens and members of the Duval County Legislative Delegation. The lawmakers were invited to hear issues and concerns facing senior citizens.
