• Keymer Inc., a Jacksonville and Washington, D.C., public relations agency, appointed Tony Allegretti as senior consultant to work on strategic communications projects for clients in the U.S. and abroad. He also will be responsible for enhancing Keymer’s existing social media consulting services. Allegretti most recently served as communications director of Gallery Restaurant Group and helped to create the Downtown Art Walk and Riverside Arts Market.
• Jacksonville-based Lender Processing Services Inc. said that Joe Jacquot will be its senior vice president of government affairs. LPS provides technology, data and analytics to the mortgage and real estate industries. Jacquot served from 2007-11 as deputy attorney general of Florida and chief of staff for former Attorney General Bill McCollum.
• Acosta Inc. President and CEO Robert Hill will be the keynote speaker at the July 15 Cornerstone meeting for the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce.
• Hyatt banquet server Margo Hicks (left) with Mayor-elect Alvin Brown. Brown spoke Monday at the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce City Council Appreciation Lunch at the Hyatt. Chamber Chair Hugh Greene said it was the “sixth, eighth, 10th, 12th” chamber event he’s shared with Brown. “I haven’t seen you in 24 hours,” he quipped. Speaking to the group, Brown continued what has become a trademark – referring to people in the audience by name when not expected. Among those included Monday: Council members Kevin Hyde and John Crescimbeni as well as Bruce Barcelo and Randy Goodwin.
• Wells Fargo will present $80,000 to several area nonprofits Wednesday as it throws a parade to announce the conversion of Wachovia to Wells Fargo. Recipient nonprofits are the American Cancer Society, the American Red Cross, Ronald McDonald House, the Children’s Home Society and five food banks across North Florida, including Second Harvest.
• Mayor John Peyton and City Council member Warren Jones will join New Town Success Zone Co-Chairs Nat Glover and Pam Paul, as well as representatives of the Department of Recreation and Community Services, at 3 p.m. Thursday for the groundbreaking of Success Park in the New Town Success Zone three blocks from the campus of Edward Waters College, where Glover is president.
