10:30 a.m. — Swearing-in ceremony, Osborn Center, open to the public.
July 2
9 a.m.- 2 p.m. — City’s first annual “5-on-5 Basketball Tournament.” Ed Austin Regional Park, 11751 McCormick Road. Free and open to the public. Free popcorn, cotton candy and snow cones. Other food will be available for purchase, with proceeds benefiting the Police Athletic League. Activities include bounce houses, bubbles stations, and arts and crafts.
The tournament will consist of 16 adult teams (ages 18 and up), eight minor teams (14-17), and eight youth teams. For information, email Angie Nixon or Carla Jones by Thursday.
