• Stacy Watson May has opened a law firm focusing exclusively on environmental law and the mediation of environmental and commercial cases. Watson May is a state certified Circuit Mediator in all judicial circuits of Florida, facilitating the resolution of disputes, including those that have not yet reached the courts. Watson May formerly was with Holland & Knight as senior counsel practicing environmental litigation, environmental components of business and real estate transactions and enforcement defense. She also was a former in-house counsel with CSX Transportation, where she was responsible for counseling internal clients in environmental compliance and enforcement.

• Tanner Bishop, a Jacksonville-based law firm, has opened a Tallahassee office in the White House, located in the Park Avenue Historic District near downtown at 203 N. Gadsden St. Firm partners Michael G. Tanner and Thomas E. Bishop will alternate as managing partners of the new office. Tanner Bishop’s lawyers practice exclusively in the areas of litigation, trials and appeals.

• The Ritz Theatre and Museum plans a news conference at 11:30 a.m. Thursday to announce the debut of its new exhibit, “More Than a Game: African American Sports in Jacksonville, 1900-1975.” The exhibit opens to the public Friday and features the history of Jacksonville’s African-American athletes who played sports locally and beyond during the time of segregation.
