The (somewhat) cooler weather Friday brought a crowd to the Jacksonville Landing Market.

Several new vendors were selling their wares and the market has a new manager, Lina Woods. She’s already a familiar face at the Landing because she owns Lina M. Bath Boutique, where she sells her own line of handmade skin-care products.

Woods has some experience with starting a new venture. When she arrived with her products in Jacksonville a few years ago, she started the business on a card table at the Friday market when it was at Hemming Plaza.

Within a few months, she leased space in the Landing near the Visit Jacksonville Welcome Center and her business has grown every month since.

Woods said she’s signing up a lot of new vendors and exhibitors and has begun a marketing campaign to encourage people who work Downtown to come to the Landing Friday for lunch and then shop at the market before heading back to the office.

“We’re excited and I expect we’ll have at least 10 new vendors next week,” said Woods.

The market is open 10 a.m.-2 p.m. every Friday at the Independent Drive entrance to the Landing.
