• City Council President Jack Webb announced Monday that three council members will serve on an ad hoc committee to review budget savings for the 2011-12 fiscal year. Stephen Joost will chair the committee, which also includes Warren Jones and Bill Bishop. Webb said the three will start seeking potential savings to help the next finance committee in its budget deliberations as 14 of 19 council seats are up for election next week, including those held by Webb and Bishop. The committee report is due June 1. Webb anticipates the group will meet every other week.

• If you’re looking for Mayor John Peyton around City Hall this week, you’re probably out of luck. According to his calendar, he’s out of the office every day.

• The Jacksonville chapter of ARMA International’s March 22 meeting will feature a presentation by Robert Johnson, founder and CEO of the National Association for Information Destruction. His topic: “The New Realities of Proper Information Disposal.” The meeting is 7:30-9:30 a.m. at The University Club. The cost is $25 for members, $30 for nonmembers. • Starting today, the Jacksonville Aviation Authority said curbside valet customers at Jacksonville International Airport will be able to receive their boarding pass at the curbside valet booth. Valet customers can contact Air Valet with their name and confirmation number or use the Air Valet online reservation system. At the valet booth, customers will be issued their boarding pass.

• Baptist Health named Lee M. Thomas to its board of directors. Thomas is chair and CEO of Jacksonville-based Rayonier. Before joining Rayonier in 2007, Thomas held management positions with Georgia-Pacific, including president and CEO.
