• It’s good to get the media on your side. Tim Clark, The Players depending champion, sent his sweet support to working media at the tournament on Thursday.

• Next week is officially National Small Business Week, but the honors will continue the week after as the University of North Florida will host its 19th Annual Small Business Week Celebration on May 25. The U.S. Small Business Administration will present its Small Business Week awards following a keynote speech by Kelly McDonald, founder of McDonald Marketing. The event is from 11:30 a.m.- 1 p.m. at the UNF University Center. Registration is $35 per person; for more information, call 620-2476.

• Jacksonville Economic Development Commission Business Development Chief Lindsey Kimball has resigned from the City to accept a new position. After May 20, she’s the senior vice president of economic development at Infinity Global Solutions, a lobbying firm at 800 W. Monroe St.

• The Serendipity Springfield Home & Outdoor Living Tour is 1-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Eight homes are on this year’s 33rd annual tour, including the Springfield Woman’s Club Building, where refreshments will be served. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door. • Also in Jacksonville’s original historic “bedroom community,” the Relay for Life in Springfield is noon May 21 to 6 a.m. May 22 in Confederate Dog Park. It’s billed as an “18-hour event to celebrate life and fight cancer.” Info at www.relayforlife.org/springfieldFL.

• During its next meeting Thursday, the U.S. Green Building Council North Florida chapter will formally announce the creation of a sustainability resource center within the urban core. The center will be a place for the public and professionals to expand their knowledge on all things green in a hands-on manner. The meeting, presented by the organization’s Sustainability Resource Team, is at Maggiano’s at the St. Johns Town Center with tickets $25 for chapter members and nonmembers, $15 for students.
