Lobbyist Ginny Myrick launched her own government consulting business, Myrick Policy Group, last week. She has negotiated a continuing relationship as an independent consultant in “strategic Florida partnership with Holland & Knight LLP” and will remain in her Jacksonville office in the Holland & Knight offices in the Bank of America Tower Downtown. Myrick is a former City Council member.

• Former Stein Mart Inc. investor relations director Nancy Murphy joined Lender Processing Services Inc. as vice president of investor relations. Jacksonville-based LPS provides integrated technology, data and analytics to the mortgage industry. She has 17 years of experience in financial strategy and analysis, business development and relationship management.

• The St. Johns River Water Management District is looking at modifications to construction documents for the Fiat of Jacksonville project at 11101 Nurseryfields Drive near Florida 9A and Baymeadows Road. Fiat wants to sell its small Cinquecento (500) there, according to reports.

• The Water Management District also is reviewing a permit for installation of the Intelligent Transportation System along Florida 9A from Atlantic Boulevard to Interstate 95. The system is a series of electronic information signs, sensors and cameras linked to a central system by fiberoptic conduit.

• Community Connections CEO Pat Hannan will retire early next year after 18 years with the nonprofit, which assists and houses the homeless and serves women, children and families. “It is with mixed emotions that I decided to retire,” she said. “I look forward to new adventures.” Board President Frank Morreale said the board hopes to have a successor named in early 2012.

• Jacksonville-based Florida East Coast Railway LLC will host an executive briefing and breakfast Nov. 15 at the CNN Omni Hotel in Atlanta in conjunction with the National Industrial Transportation League, Intermodal Association of North America and Transportation Intermediaries Association conference and exposition. President and CEO Jim Hertwig will talk about the five facets that are changing intermodal and how premium service is the “minimum standard” for the FEC.

• The CoreLogic analytics firm reported that Jacksonville home prices, including distressed sales, fell 3.9 percent in September from September 2010 and dropped by 6.3 percent in August from August 2010. Excluding distressed sales, prices declined 1.7 percent September-September and 3 percent August-August.
