• Pat Ritter was one of the participants at America Recycles Day in Jacksonville on Tuesday, which generated 22,350 pounds of paper shredded, 300 pounds of cardboard recycled and 270 pounds of magazines and newspapers for recycling. The event was sponsored by Keep Jacksonville Beautiful, the City and Southland Recycling Services.

• Gov. Rick Scott is scheduled to spend time in North Florida today. His schedule shows he will be at Naval Air Station Jacksonville until noon and then meet legislators for lunch at Fionn MacCool’s Irish Pub at the Landing Downtown before heading to Nassau County for an education roundtable at Fernandina Beach Middle School and then the groundbreaking for the Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort and Conference Center.

• Trailer Bridge Inc., which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection this week, announced Thursday that its stock will be delisted as of the opening of business on Nov. 28 and that Nasdaq will file a Form 25-NSE with the Securities and Exchange Commission, which will remove the company’s securities from listing and registration on Nasdaq. After the common stock is delisted by Nasdaq, it may trade on the OTC Bulletin Board or the Pink OTC Markets Inc., but only if a market maker applies to quote the Company’s common stock.

• Carole Ann Steiger was selected as the vice president and COO of HandsOn Jacksonville. She most recently was manager of AT&T’s Fleet Operations for northern and central Florida. 

• The Northeast Florida Association of Realtors said closed sales of single-family homes and condos rose 6.2 percent in October from the year before, reaching 1,192. Of those, 647 were traditional sales and 545, or almost 46 percent, were lender-mediated. Inventory dropped to 7.7 months, near the 5-6 months considered a healthy market.

• Speaking of sales, the Realtors reported that in October, the median sales price of $127,800 was down 8.1 percent from $139,050 in October 2010. The median price for traditional sales was $160,000 and it was $82,900 for lender-mediated sales.

• Target Stores at 9041 Southside Blvd. and 10490 San Jose Blvd. are being renovated and receiving market freezers and coolers, the first store at $900,000 and the second at $850,000. Batson-Cook Co. is handling the work.

• The City issued a permit for E.M. Enterprises General Contractor Inc. to install conduit and generator equipment for PNC Mortgage at 5011 Gate Parkway, Building 200, at a cost of $499,866.

• Elkins Constructors Inc. will build the pool house for Timuquana Country Club at a project cost of $196,000; O.R. Dicky Smith & Co. will build the resident’s club for the Villages of Westport at a cost of $234,662.
